The Vision

Dr. Bob Cavin began serving MLBC in a part-time capacity as Business Administrator in 1994. His full-time job was Director of the Texas Baptist Leadership Center, Inc. of the BGCT where he had served in the areas of leadership development and church administration since 1989. In October, 2005, Bob took early retirement from the BGCT to come on staff at MLBC full-time as Executive Pastor. As Executive Pastor, he has five roles: Administrator of Resources, Catalyst for Ministry, Mentor of Leadership, Minister to Congregation, and Overseer of Church-wide Ministries. 

Bob holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Howard Payne University, Master of Science degree from Texas A & M University, Doctor of Education work from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Doctor of Humanities degree from Howard Payne University. He has previously served as a psychologist and childcare administrator for 8 years and in full-time ministry since 1981. 

Bob has been married since 1973 to Karen Cavin who serves as Minister of Childhood Education at Mimosa Lane. They have two children and a wonderful son-in-law and daughter-in-law. Christi, their daughter, is married to Chad Morgan and they have one daughter, Carli, and twin sons, Carter and Colton. They live in Rockwall. Christi is a district administrator with the Sunnyvale Independent School District. Chad works as a manager for Chamberlin Roofing. Kyle, their son, is married to Kelley, and they have two sons, Kye and Kace. Kyle is Associate Director of Ambulatory Care for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas. They live in Rockwall, where Kelley teaches 2nd grade for the Rockwall Independent School District. 

Bob's hobbies include hunting, traveling, and riding his Honda VTX1300 motorcycle. Bob feels that serving MLBC allows him to use his spiritual gifts of leadership and administration. His office telephone number is 972/288-7426 Ext. 208 and email address is bcavin@mimosalane.org.
