Gilbert
Davis |
|
Gilbert Davis was born in Cordova, Alabama in November, 1935. His family
moved to Birmingham, Alabama during WWII. He graduated from Ensley High
School in 1954 and Samford University in 1957, where he was voted the
Outstanding Athlete of the 1956 college year. Mr. Davis received his
Masters of Religious Education from Southwestern Theological Seminary
in 1959.
Mr. Davis
married his High School sweetheart, Miss Cynthia Jane Reeves, in 1957. Mrs. Davis, a native of Birmingham, graduated from Texas
Christian University in 1959. The Davis’ have two children; a daughter,
Penny, husband, Larry Belt, children, LeShea, Ty, Peyton; son, Crandle
Davis, wife, Joy, children Micah, Jenna, and Brant.
Mr. Davis has served churches in Alabama, Arkansas and Texas. He served
at First Baptist, Duncanville for 13 years and is currently serving in
his 32nd year at Mimosa Lane Baptist Church. He has served in many capacities
at MLBC, but is now Associate Pastor with emphasis in Pastoral Ministry
and Senior Adult Ministry. |
