On the TV series, West Wing, the president had a phrase that described his forward looking efforts. After dealing with the most pressing needs at hand, he would look at his staff and say... “What’s next?” Meaning: what’s coming? What video we need to be p preparing for tomorrow and not just today? Some things we can anticipate and prepare for but there are some to which we will have no idea because we are not in control! The “what’s next?” that we know about are Super Bowl Sunday activities! Special music with combined choirs, wearing your favorite team jersey, a video of cowboy tight end Jason Witten, super bowl fellowships in homes Sunday evening, a great time to include all your guests listed on your Bible study rolls. It will be a fun day. I will be speaking on the Blind Spot of “Distractions”. I know we won’t have any that day!

Also, “what’s next?” will be Xtreme weekend Feb. 11-13 when our students will be spending Friday through Sunday in homes learning and growing in their faith. We will have a special speaker and worship leaders that Sunday! It is our opportunity to pray and support what God is doing in the hearts and lives of our students! Remember as Christians our ultimate; “what’s next?” is heaven! We should live with our eyes on the stars charting our course even as we have our hands on the sails in the middle of the seas. I look forward to this Sunday as we deal with “Materialism”, the way of thinking that robs us of our eternal prospective. Until then, look out for those blind spots!

Faithfully yours, Bro. Rocky Pope It’s

Feb 10-13 Registration until Jan 30 $60; Late Reg until Feb 7 $70

Xtreme 2011 is an opportunity for middle school, high school, and college students to experience intentional Bible teaching and unifying worship experiences. Please, be in prayer for the leaders as they come that their hearts will be prepared and that they will have the words to lead during the weekend. Pray for the students that they will be willing to allow God to genuinely impact their hearts. Also, pray for the band and the speaker that God will protect them and guide them as they prepare for the weekend. It is going to be a great weekend, and we are excited to see the lives that God is going to change through Xtreme. If you would like to provide a scholarship or help with food, please, call 972-288-7426.

MLBC has a NEW Brotherhood Director
(as of Jan 15, 2011)!

He is George Felkner. I have enjoyed working with him for several years. After 18 years I am stepping aside for this younger and more energetic man. He will move forward with new and creative mission ideas for men and boys. I know you will give George your full support as God continues to bless this mission work. It has been an honor and blessing to see so many of you men and ladies in service for Christ and our community. Thank you for your encouragement and support along our journey.

Sincerely, Karl Bozeman
